Mobee tours is one of the services rendered to tourist by Mobee slave relics museum to help tourist visiting the historical and ancient town of Badagry, to tour and made known to tourist the facts behind the Historical town, what has occured in the early and late centuries in the town with physical prooves to back it up and to showcase the Heritage of the Historical town to the rest of the world.
Mobee slave relics museum, is located along Mobee street in Badagry-Lagos, Nigeria , a place where the Original slave relics were kept and preserved right from when slave trade was abolished to show all generations willing to know more facts about slave trade and to preserve the memories of the early centuries.
Mobee family is a royal family in Badagry right from the foundation and rulership in Badagry , Badagry- which is the seat of western education and civilisaton in Nigeria was one of the famous and exite point is west Africa for slave trading .
As a matter of fact, the Ancestor of the Mobee family participated during the obnoxious trade , the second generation actively encourage the trade by,
i- One of the active middlemen between the foreign slave dealers and fellow black.
ii- Settled the brazillian slave dealers in His domain
iii- Provided a piece of land in his domain where the Brazillian salve baracoon (slave cell) was erected, before the slave been shipped off to the 'point of no return' and finally to the new world.
iv- Allow the slave dealers to have their port and construct salve port jetty in His domain which aids easy transportation to the new world.
And helped the missionaries in,
i- providing a piece of land to construct the First storey building in Nigeria-1842 where..
a- The first school was erected in the compound of the building
b- English bible was translated into Yoruba language- Ajayi Crowther
c- Serves as mission house for the missionaries.
And the third generation discourage the trade by,
i-Abolishing the obnoxious trade with the help of other Cheifs in Badagry
ii- Signing the treaty of Abolishion of slave trade in Badagry and its environ with the British Government.
iii- Retaining the Original slave chains and other materials in His domain, which is still preserve up till date and use as a museum to show all Generation of the World.
This two generations in Mobee family has laid a positive and negative impact on slave trading in Badagry, salve trade is an issue of the past and we the new and present generation of the Mobee family hereby appeal to all our brothers and sisters in Diaspora whose past generation are victim of this obnoxious trade that we are Very sorry during the reign of our second generation and to God be the Glory our third generation has tried as much as possible to laid a positive impact and we are proud that we have produce a civilised, well Educated and properous seventh royal and extended generation.
We are appealing to the Nigeria governments and other able hands all around the globe to help develop our museum and other important tourist attrations in Badagry and in the development of the town itself.
